Privacy Search

Last updated: February 2026

Overview

Privacy Search lets you search the web without tracking, history storage, or surveillance. Get 3 free searches to try it. After that, members get unlimited searches for $1/month.

How It Works

Simple: you type a query, we pass it directly to search engines, and you get results. No middle man. No logging. No cookies.

Free Tier

3 free searches per browser session. No signup required. After that, you need a membership.

Membership

Members get unlimited searches. $1 every 28 days. Join at the entry gate or continue searching after your free searches run out.

Privacy Guarantees

No Search History

Your searches aren't stored on our servers. They don't get logged. They don't get sold. We literally don't have a database of what you've searched.

No Cookies

We use session-based authentication stored in your browser's sessionStorage, not cookies. Session data expires when you close the tab. No persistent tracking.

No Direct Tracking

We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Segment, or any third-party tracking. We don't know your IP. We don't fingerprint your device. We don't care where you go.

Direct Search Engine Queries

Queries go straight to search engines through our fortune0 API backend. We act as a relay, not a middle man. The search engine sees your query, not some tracking infrastructure.

How to Use

Quick Start

Visit death2data.com or use the search box on the site. Type your query and press Enter. That's it.

URL Parameters

You can search directly via URL: death2data.com/?q=your+query. Spaces as + or %20. Results load directly without any extra steps.

Switching Topics

Search again. New query, new results. No history to clear, no old searches following you around.

Technical Details

Authentication

Session-based. Your membership status is stored in sessionStorage on your device. When you close the browser, the session expires. No persistent tokens. No server-side sessions stored.

Backend

The fortune0 API on Render handles search relay. It's the middleman between you and the search engines. We don't log queries there either.

Frontend

Vanilla JavaScript. No frameworks. No tracking libraries. No hidden requests. The code is lightweight and auditable.

Under the Hood

What We Built

Custom search relay API. Session authentication system. Minimal UI that respects your attention.

What We Use

Render for API hosting. GitHub Pages for the frontend. fortune0 for billing integration.

Influences

We were inspired by DuckDuckGo's privacy approach (no tracking), Google's minimal interface design (no cruft), and Brave Search's independence (no surveillance). We took the best parts and built something even simpler.

Why We Built It This Way

Most search tools make money from tracking or ads. We make $1/month. That's it. When your only income is from people who explicitly choose you, you can't afford to track them. Your incentive is to be good, not to sell data.

Limitations

This isn't a search engine. It's a search interface. We relay your query to real search engines. If a search engine is down, we can't help. If a search engine changes their API, we adapt.
